Is it a big difference between Minolta Dimage Elite II and Elite 5400 scanners?

Detail shows light grain reduction and no sharpening. I do get significantly elkte results on the Elite II than I do on my Epson V flatbed with the transparency adapter. The software will fit the needs of most photographers, whether dimagw or experienced pros. It’s not the best with slides again, Nikon beats it hands down there but it’s the only one of the scanners that’s currently being produced and supported officially.

When you need them to restore faded colors, saythey’re nice to have.


Scanner Review: Konica Minolta DiMAGE Scan Elite II

The company overhauled the bundled software, which we complained about in our review of the II’s predecessor, the Dimage Scan Eliteand added Kodak’s Digital ICE4 technology. It’s difficult to draw the line between the raw capture and the corrected file particularly in the case of negativesbut we saw some gorgeous histograms. It was bought in about and was a current offering at that time. With myI have scanned 8X10s a section at a time and stitched them together semi-successfully.

We generally prefer not to use the manufacturer’s scanning software, opting instead for VueScan or SilverFast.

It also does not have a Kodachrome setting. Additional Product Features Focus Option. It takes you step-by-step through the scanning process, with buttons to enable all the advanced features and even an edit option to adjust the final image beyond what the scanner likes.

Though the manual says it won’t work with Kodachrome, we turned the feature on, ran some Kodachrome slides through the unit, and came up with good results.
