Going down from High to Medium doesn’t help though. It’s possible that not all of the nForce4-A’s are exactly the same. From my experience with this board I would say do not flash your bios until it’s confirmed that the bios ECS has on their website will work.

When I ran it everything appeared to flash correctly. Dual core processors kick ass!

I’ve downloaded the 1. In other words, no boot, no beeps, no video and I had both vga and lcd hooked up to make sure.

Going down from High to Medium doesn’t help though. I tried everything, but the floppy drive was not even reading on powerup, so there was no way to flash the original bios that I had backed up. If you insist that this won’t work, at least try a repair installation reinstall on top of the old install rather than a true reinstall.

It’s possible that not all of the nForce4-A’s are exactly the same. Select the device under “Computer”.

A word to the wise re: ECS nForce4-A939 boards from Fry’s

This was my assumption when I had the same problem. Mon Dec 12, 1: BIN file in the same directory as WinFlash. Strangely, setting the case fan to it’s lowest speed setting made the rattling stop immediately. After all, it doesn’t do for them to be using a supplier who’s having problems.
