Everyone on the range knows you’ve ‘got hold of one’ with this baby. Sits really well behind the ball and looks great at address. Good club- Average price. The club provides optimal forgiveness for a hacker like myself, but gives great distance. Any other shot seemed to make the XLS irritable. I just bought the XLS 9.
But that was my fault and corrected and have been hitting it great. I just went out today to pick up a new driver.
The club comes fitted as standard with a highly commended Fujikura fit on shaft, with a choice of gold shaft or red shaft in regular, stiff or extra-stiff. This aligns the centre of gravity directly with the sweet spot in the centre of the face, resulting in optimal conditions for greater overall distance.
Seems it is definitely not that popular of a three wood, but that only means the prices are gonna be really low soon so go out and try one! So far I have been impressed by the distance gained from using the XLS, previously I owned the XL model and I have discovered a notable increase of between 10 yards by just using the new model.
At address the club looks great and gives confidence, additionally the powerful sound it makes upon impact is sure to turn a few heads! Some people will hate the looks of the club! Not only does this increase the hiboer, but it also makes it much easier to align the club at address. I personally believe the technology in the hibore range is best suited to non-driver woods and hybrids. I am crushing my drives and they are going very straight.
I’ll post results in length and trajectory changes after I do so.

Cleveland HiBore XLS
He said the club for me was the XLS fairway. Hit it low, toe, heel or high and you’ll know. I like the large size because the major reason I went back to x,s fairway woods was for use off the tee.
Every manufacturer has been doing this for the last several years. I had to make contact well out on the toe or way in on the heel before Reviiew could tell where the clubface met the ball. Posted 08 September – I just bought the XLS 9. Conclusion Players who struggle with over-the-top swings that result in slices may find some measure of salvation in the XLS driver.
Sometimes I wonder if Do you think I would benefit from the HiBore? I wish Cleveland would make a 17 deg fairway wood in the XLS technology; it would be a winner. I just got an XLS with the gold shaft today. I first tried a Callaway X and ihbore face was too shallow for me.

I have the 13 deg with the red fit-on and it launches a low, penetrating ball that I can work just slightly left or right when I want – although point and shoot is the usual plan. My typical swing with the original HiBORE produced drives that flew wedge-shot high, very straight… and about as far as a 3-wood. I love this club. The shaft options available at the custom fit center are great too.
