Thursday, November 5, 7: Can you possible post your working file here so I can figure out what my problem is. Have you tried going back to the 32 bit drivers after making the alterations? I had a driver that worked in Windows 7×64 and I am now using it in Windows 10 x64, after finding out how to turn-off the Install Warning, because unlike earlier versions, Windows 10 is not a simple click of ignore. Another big “thank you” to MartinBravo. Thanks for responding to my post.
Email required Address never made public. I had a little trouble getting it to work too.

I used it and pointed it into my file that I had put into the “Driver Store”: Thank you so much for the modified driver!
So, I suspect that there is an incompatibility between the Vista bit driver and my card. Marked as answer by David Shen Tuesday, October 13, 9: After downloading and installing Adaptec Aic78xx And Aic78u2 32 Bit, or the driver installation manager, take a few minutes to send us a report: Say yes, you really do want to install the driver — it will work. If anyone is interested just let me know.
You are commenting using your Twitter account. Vista did, but they took it out of 7 and Perhaps you could correct my mistake.
This is a brilliant bit of hackery. It would recognize the controller but would not initialize the drive. Download Now Secure Download.
DRIVERS: AIC78XX AND AIC78U2 BIT
It saved the day. 64-biy to Akc78xx tab, then Update Drivers. Friday, October 9, 5: I tried with VueScan x64 but it is not working very well because it identifies the scanner as HP Scanjetit seems that an update has to be done. It is now showing in dev mgr but I am getting error code 10 can not start in windows 7 64 bit.
Thursday, November 05, I have tried your fix aic78xx and aic78u2 bit to no avail. Not only did I have to uninstall the driver and start over, I had to remove the driver from the DriverStore folder using pnputil per the instructions at the following link: Why have the people in the know not just simply created the driver and the uploaded it, so that it became easily available to everyone who requires it.
Install this driver software anyway. Perhaps that could be of help as well. I will try in Legacy mode to see if that makes any difference. I would like to thank everyone here for their input All of these suggestions will keep 7 running legacy hardware Had to cleanup an old SCSI drive today and realized I do not have anything running SCSI anymore Now install your driver as detailed above for Windows 7.
Proposed as bit by svanschalkwyk Wednesday, December 25, Tuesday, October 13, 9: Windows 10 requires a reboot. This happened even when I tried to install the driver using the Add Legacy Hardware option.
Did you edit the file and change it to reflect your own model number like I outlined in the article?
